www.capeannmuseum.org

www.harvardartmuseums.org

Currently on view at the Cape Ann Museum and Harvard Art Museums (University Research Gallery) respectively, these exhibits both showcase paintings and drawings by Winslow Homer. Homer's evolution into a marine painter is explored with the works displayed at the Cape Ann Museum. The exhibit at Harvard displays drawings and paintings from his time working for Harper's Weekly, an illustrated political periodical.

Museum of Fine Arts

"Women Take the Floor"

www.mfa.org

From the MFA's Website: " 'Women Take the Floor' challenges the dominant history of 20th-century American art by focusing on the overlooked and underrepresented work and stories of women artists. This reinstallation—or 'takeover'—of Level 3 of the Art of the Americas Wing advocates for diversity, inclusion, and gender equity in museums, the art world, and beyond."

Institute of Contemporary Art

"Love is Calling"

www.icaboston.org

Yayoi Kusama's recently opened installation at the ICA reinforces her reputation as one of the most important contemporary artists currently alive. The exhibit displays her signature style and more. It includes both a mirrored room filled with instantly recognizable polka-dot tentacles and an infinity mirror room.  A poem written by Kusama also plays as you explore; read in Japanese it explores various themes including universal love.
